As you may have heard, many Miami-Dade farms are facing an existential crisis due to legislation that is coming around the corner from our commissioners.
After 17 years of trailblazing composting in South Florida, Fertile Earth Worm Farm (as well as many other farms) are under assault with new proposed legislation that will effectively shut us down.
Incredibly, all this is happening in real time, within current drafts of ordinances that are actually supposed to be facilitating composting, as part of the county's stated commitment to "Zero-Waste."
But instead of helping, they are tying the hands of local farms behind our backs.
As such, we will be mobilizing farmers and concerned residents to SAVE OUR FARMS and protect our RIGHT TO COMPOST.
